Social media users expressed surprise at a move by actress Claudine Barretto, who replied to a male Threads user saying she is “single.”
The “Totoy Bato” star responded on Saturday, January 3, to a Threads user who posted the following in a community on the platform called “USA Thread”:
Met at 19, married at 24, divorced at 40.
My late father told me,
‘You wasted your best years (your 20s).’
I want my father to see this.
Me, 45.
Right now, I am in the best moment of my life
The Threads user accompanied his post with a picture. The post caught Claudine’s attention, and she commented:
“Dear, I’m 46, an actress in the Philippines. I’m single but happy. Thank [you], [you] look great, but I’m really busy. Happy New Year.”
A firework emoji accompanied her comment.

The actress’ comment has earned 166 likes, nearly 20 replies and 21 shares, with some Pinoys reacting to it.
“Mommy ko???? Hahahaha, [what] is this,” a Threads user wrote.
“Single naman sa ka 46 na!!! Hayaan niyo na si Idol Clau, sayang naman ang ganda niya ngayon,” another commented.
“M-m-mahhh Klaw!!??” a different Threads user commented with face-screaming-in-fear emojis.

A look at the Threads user’s account, to which the actress responded, shows that it is allegedly owned by Yota Miyaki, a Japanese national who has been in the United States since November 2025.
In another post, he described himself as a 45-year-old single man “looking for a serious American woman to build a romantic relationship and eventually get married.”
Meanwhile, Claudine sparked split rumors with Milano Sanchez, the younger brother of journalist Korina Sanchez, last month, after her posts focused on heartbreak and reminded followers to love themselves first.
The pair were rumored to be dating in October 2025, when the actress shared photos of them showing affection.
