Trigger Warning: Contains mention of sexual abuse

A Filipino fugitive has been included on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)‘s “Most Wanted” list for allegedly sexually abusing minors in California.

Edgardo Feralin Dormido, Jr., now 52 years old, is wanted by the U.S. federal law enforcement agency over allegations involving sexual offenses against minors in Manhattan Beach, California.

The FBI said Dormido was charged in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, on Oct. 9, 2015, with five felony counts.

The charges include two counts of Oral Copulation or Sexual Penetration with Child 10 Years Old or Younger, one count of Forcible Lewd Act Upon Child, and two counts of Lewd Act Upon a Child.

The FBI said that months earlier, on July 13, 2015, Dormido flew from Los Angeles International Airport to Taipei, Taiwan, before traveling to Manila, Philippines.

On June 22, 2022, Dormido was federally charged with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution by the United States District Court, Central District of California and a federal arrest warrant was issued against him.

The FBI believes that Dormido is currently residing in the Philippines, but may still have family members living in Los Angeles, California.

“If you have any information concerning this person, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate,” it said on its website.

The notice caught the attention of Filipinos, who reacted in the comments section of the post.

“Nagkalalat ng lagim mga Filipinos. Kurakot, madaya, manual. Everything that can embarrass our country,” a Facebook user commented.

“FILIPINO PRIDE,” another wrote.

“Hanapin na agad bago pa makapang biktima ulit,” a different Pinoy commented.

“Kakahiya,” another said.

“Minsan, mapapaisip ka, ang daming gusto makakuha ng visa diyan, tapos ‘yan lang ang nakakapasok?” a different Facebook user asked, referring to the USA and its visa requirements for Filipinos.

Another Filipino on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list is televangelist and alleged sex offender Apollo Quiboloy, who is facing human trafficking charges in the US, along with his alleged church lieutenants.

Quiboloy is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail.
