The official trailer for “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS” was released on Tuesday, July 15, as tickets also went on sale for the global girl group’s first-ever theatrical event ahead of the release of its third EP.
SM Cinemas said the film features KATSEYE members Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel, Yoonchae Jeung and Manon Bannerman. It offers never-before-seen footage, EYEKONS fan videos, and intimate interviews with the group.
Manon spotted
The nearly one-minute trailer briefly featured Manon, who is currently on hiatus.
Fans expressed excitement over seeing her in the trailer.
“Omggggg it’s my queen manon at 0:14,” an EYEKON wrote.
“OMG, THEY ACTUALLY [USED] SOME CLIPS THAT HAS MANON IN IT,” another commented.
“I’m happy they showed her I hope she’s in the movie,” a fan also said.
As of writing, the trailer has garnered more than 1.6 million views, 124,000 likes and ranks No. 7 on YouTube’s Movies Trending chart.
Set for a limited global theatrical engagement beginning August 12, “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS” follows what the producers describe as the group’s bold new era while exploring the bond between KATSEYE and its global fandom.
The film also looks back on the group’s journey from the pressure of Dream Academy to its chart-topping viral success, highlighting the highs, setbacks, sacrifices, and breakthrough moments that shaped KATSEYE’s rise as a global pop act.
“KATSEYE’s first-ever cinema event celebrates the passionate EYEKONS community that has embraced KATSEYE’s journey from the group’s formation to becoming one of pop’s most exciting new global acts,” Kymberli Frueh, executive vice president of Programming and Content Acquisitions for Trafalgar Releasing, said.
“We are excited to bring the fandom together in theaters around the world for a shared, immersive experience,” she added.
Directed by Nadia Hallgren, “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS” is produced by Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures in partnership with HYBE x Geffen. They are the same team behind Netflix’s “POP STAR ACADEMY.”
The film arrives ahead of KATSEYE’s third EP, “WILD,” which will be released on August 14. The group’s “THE WILDWORLD TOUR” is scheduled to begin on September 1.
