Actress Claudine Barretto faced backlash after a video surfaced showing her opening an ice cream tub and smelling its contents inside a grocery store.
An online user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a clip on Monday, January 26, capturing the actress during a grocery run.
The clip was tagged with the name of Claudine’s longtime personal assistant, Marisol Acap. It showed the actress grabbing an ice cream tub from a chest freezer while someone laughed in the background.
“Parang gusto ko siyang bilhin dahil sa pangalan niya kasi worth it ‘yung dati, ‘di ba, sabi mo?” Claudine told the individual, who is presumed to be Marisol.
She then opened a tub and said, “Talagang binuksan ko no, bibilhin ko…”
The actress held it near her face, took a sniff, and then pondered whether she would get it.
She later returned the tub, which Marisol appeared to notice.
“Ba’t mo binalik?” her assistant appeared to ask with a laugh, prompting Claudine to briefly look at the chest freezer.
Marisol then goaded the actress into asking another person if they had the particular ice cream flavor she was looking for.
The video could not be found on Marisol’s social media accounts, but it had already circulated on X, where some users criticized the actress for her behavior.

The post has garnered 140,700 views, 448 likes and 22 reposts, with manyonline users similarly calling out the actress for her actions.
“Inamoy ta’s binalik. Dugyot, sh****t,” a different X user wrote.
“Anong nangyayari sa kanya? lordt,” another Pinoy commented.
Products, especially consumables, are generally not meant to be opened before purchase for sanitary reasons.
An ice cream brand noted that once a tub is opened, it is exposed to air and potential contaminants.
“Even a small amount of exposure can affect its flavour and, over time, it may develop an odd or stale taste. That’s why tightly sealing your container after every use is essential,” Gelare said on its website.
Meanwhile, Claudine made headlines on Saturday, January 24, after accusing Marisol of allegedly kidnapping her children, Sabina, Santino and Quia.
By January 26, she posted a screengrab of them during a video call with her, captioned “Safe and sound.”
