A video showing pet owners placing their dog on a baby high chair while dining at a fast food chain has raised eyebrows online.
A TikTok user posted a video on July 22 showing a dog sitting in a high chair at a fast food restaurant inside a shopping mall in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The uploader also claimed that the dog’s owners let it “drink” from a glass intended for customers of the fast food chain.
“Ang nakakadiri pa, pinapainom sa baso ng Jollibee. What if may rabies ‘yung aso then hindi nahugasan [nang] maayos ng dishwasher, paano na,” the uploader said.
The glass was later seen on the floor, beneath the high chair where the dog had been seated.

The video drew criticism from some Filipinos who raised concerns over the use of items intended for humans, particularly the high chair and drinking glass.
“Bakit naman pinaupo sa high chair, kapag may dala [kayong] aso, make sure may sarili [kayong] stroller para doon na lang sila, [kasi] baka nga naman may allergy o asthma [‘yung] next na gagamit niyan,” a TikTok user said.
“Tinapos ko video, [jusko], pati baso. Dapat may sariling gamit ang pets. Kung responsible pet owner ka,” another wrote.
“Ito ‘yung hindi nila maintindihan. Sumasama agad loob nila. Ayaw nila ilugar, sila pa magagalit. Merong mga tao, allergic talaga, kawawa pa [‘pag] bata,” a different Pinoy said.
“May mga babies na pwedeng magkaroon ng severe allergic reaction sa pets. Lalo na at ‘di pa developed ang immune system [nila],” another wrote.
Last month, a pet owner in another shopping mall went viral after she used a diaper changing station to attend to her dog.
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) reminded pet owners to “uphold a shared sense of responsibility in public spaces” amid the discussion and to safeguard such spaces “by respecting boundaries and protecting the health and well-being of both people and animals.”
“Using these areas for pets, even with good intentions, can pose health risks to babies and potentially undermine public trust in the pet-friendly environments that the animal-loving community has worked so hard to build over the years,” PAWS said.
