Miss Earth 2025 runner-up Joy Barcoma responded to a blind item by an FM radio station claiming that a person whose name starts with the letter “J” was a “bully” when she was still a student, accompanied by a photo resembling her.

Yes FM Manila earlier shared an image of the beauty queen’s eyes for its blind item post, with the text: “Sinong ‘J’ ang bully raw no’ng ESTUDYANTE pa?”

Joy commented on the post.

“Joy Barcoma!” she wrote with a heart emoji.

“O eto naman — sinong ‘Y’ ang cloutchaser na radio station?” the beauty queen added, along with the radio station’s logo.

The post can no longer be accessed on Yes FM’s Facebook page.

Joy later revealed a screengrab of a comment section in which a male individual alleged she was a “bully.”

The beauty queen said that they “never even interacted in person back in college.”

She added that they had an online conversation in which a “21-year-old harmless boy” messaged her, a 15-year-old college student at the time, about masturbation.

“Imagine calling me a bully pero when I read our convo, mabait naman ako sa’yo pero ikaw pala ‘yung hindi mabait sa’kin. 21-year-old harmless boy asking a 15-year-old student about sexual stuff,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday March 28.

The beauty queen added that the male individual was “friends” with the person who posted that she was a “bully.”

“I know this person pero ‘Messenger-friend’ lang kami. Never met him in person as far as I can recall. He’s also an admin of the group where the person who posted that I was a bully was also part of. In short, friends sila,” she wrote.

Joy also shared additional “proof” of the guy’s character by posting more screenshots in her post.

Another online user claimed that the individual Joy was referring to had previously been their teacher.

“Mahilig nga siya sa sexual innuendo dati, hahaha. Sobrang weird niya din kasi feeling ‘makata’ siya at gusto niya ginoo ‘yung tawag namin sa kanya, siguro fetish niya ‘yun,” the X user wrote.

Another X user vouched for Joy’s character, saying that she has “never been mean.”

“I’m from Pinugay, Baras, Rizal and we live in the same community, we have common friends (Jeff, Bryan, Fhretzel). She really has that Queen aura dati pa and never naging mean ‘yan whenever magkaroon kami ng interaction (this is from way back 2013-ish pa) hahahaha,” the X user said.

In the replies section of Joy’s post, she said someone messaged her, claiming the individual had been “removed from a school before” because a student reported him to the administration.

Joy graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 2018.

Her advocacies as a beauty queen include mental health and disaster resilience. She also supports sustainable fashion and is an LGBTQ+ ally.
