This is the eerie moment a huge bat swarm filled the sky in Bohol.
Footage from Facebook shows hundreds of bats flying chaotically above trees as they hunted insects at dusk in Bohol, on November 8.
Onlooker Jawee Mesias said: “Since I arrived here in 2020, this is the first time I’ve witnessed such a phenomenon.”
“I was both shocked and scared because locals believe that seeing this kind of thing is a sign that something bad will happen,” he added.
In the country, unusual bat behavior is believed to foretell natural disasters such as earthquakes and natural disasters.
Most bat species are nocturnal, emerging at night to forage for insects and other food sources.
