Watch: Eroding house begins sliding as floodwaters rage in Consolacion, Cebu

Floodwaters rushed through Purok 3, Sampaguita in Consolacion, Cebu last week, as heavy rain enhanced by former Typhoon “Tino” (International name: Kalmaegi) triggered mudflows in the area.

In a video posted by Lorilee Flores Calonia on November 6, a house can be seen swept away by fast-rising flood and mud flow. The video shows the floodwater surging with such force that the house begins sliding downhill along with the current.

Calonia screams to alert anyone inside, but receives no response, highlighting the urgency and danger of the situation as the structure shifts under the erosion.

She posted the video on Facebook, where it garnered 7,300 views, 84 reactions and 5 comments.


“Tino” brought destructive winds and heavy rains last week, with 224 people deats reported in the Philippines and five in Vietnam.
