Church-run Radio Veritas 846 reaffirmed its commitment to truth, hope and service after winning at the inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards.
The station received the Best AM Radio Program award for its flagship program, “Healing Mass sa Veritas,” recognizing its evangelization and spiritual outreach through broadcast media.
Fr. Roy Bellen, the station’s president and chief executive officer, said the recognition renews Radio Veritas’ mission to serve both the Church and the nation.
“For Radio Veritas, this honor is a renewed promise: we will keep speaking truth, sharing hope, and standing with our people, because the greatest stories we tell are those of God’s love and our shared journey as one Filipino family,” Bellen said in his acceptance speech at the awards in Manila on July 20.
He said the award affirms the continuing need for faith-based broadcasting as people seek spiritual nourishment amid today’s media landscape.
“Behind the smiles and laughter that the world of entertainment brings lies a deep thirst for the spiritual and the transcendental, and this award reminds us of that sacred truth,” he said.
Bellen dedicated the award to the bishops, priests, volunteers and listeners who sustain the station’s ministry, saying the recognition belongs to the wider Church community.
Radio Veritas airs news, public affairs, catechesis and faith formation programs in the Philippines and abroad. Its “Healing Mass sa Veritas” broadcasts the Eucharistic celebration four times daily for the sick, elderly, homebound and others unable to attend Mass.
