Filipino hotel brand opens one of Spain’s largest hotels in Madrid

A 680-room hotel developed by a Philippine company opened in Madrid on Tuesday, March 10, becoming one of the largest hotels in Spain and the first overseas property of a Filipino homegrown hotel brand.

The newly opened Hotel101-Madrid is operated by Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp., a subsidiary of Philippine-listed DoubleDragon Corporation.

“A Filipino moment is set to happen today in Madrid Spain as DoubleDragon Corporation’s subsidiary is set to make history as the first-ever Filipino homegrown hotel brand to operate overseas with its 680-room Hotel101 in Madrid, Spain – opens to the public Today March 10, 2026,” DoubleDragon wrote on Tuesday.

Located in Madrid’s Valdebebas district, the property is among the five largest hotels in Spain by number of rooms. The company said the opening also marked the start of its overseas hotel operations.

Bookings began on March 10 through the Hotel101 App and other hotel booking platforms.

The hotel is situated near the Ciudad Real Madrid, the training facility of Real Madrid CF, and is also close to the planned Formula 1 Madrid Grand Prix circuit.

It is located a few minutes from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport and near IFEMA Madrid, one of Spain’s largest convention centers.

Hotel101-Madrid offers standardized “HappyRoom” units equipped with kitchenettes. Amenities at the property include swimming pools, function rooms, a business center, a gym, convenience store, laundry facilities, and more than 200 parking spaces.

The hotel’s restaurant, HBNB Kitchen, is operated by Valencia-based Grupo La Sucursal.

The Madrid project is the first European development of Hotel101 Global, which is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the ticker HBNB.
