A pharmacy owner in Imus, Cavite, was touched after a husband left his driver’s license (DL) as a collateral to pay for his wife’s medicines purchased on Valentine’s Day.

Reports said that pharmacist Jim Soriano of JCL Pharmacy shared CCTV footage of a customer who went to their store on February 14 and offered to leave his DL to guarantee payment for the medicines he bought.

The customer, identified as Moises Labrador, promised to settle his balance once he received his paycheck, explaining that his wife needed to start taking the antibiotic immediately.

The video moved TikTok users, who sent cash donations to Labrador through Soriano.

Labrador returned to the pharmacy the following day with his wife, who also showed Soriano why she needed an antibiotic.

He was also surprised to learn that his expenses had already been covered by online users who donated after hearing his story.

The donations also covered several grocery items, which Soriano gave to the couple upon their return.

“Maraming salamat sa mga nagpaabot ng tulong kay Tatay. Diyos na po bahala sa inyo,” Soriano said in another post, where he shared a CCTV footage of Moises and his wife inside the pharmacy.

Valentine’s Day this year, the day Labrador went to the pharmacy, fell a day before payday, which typically occurs on the 15th and 30th of each month.
