Streaming platform Rakuten Viki is spotlighting romance series ahead of Valentine’s Day, citing internal data that shows the genre remains a major draw among Filipino viewers.
Rakuten Viki, a global streaming service focused on Asian dramas, films, and variety shows, reported that 62% of survey respondents in the Philippines said they watched romance titles in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company released the data on February 13, positioning romance as a key driver of engagement in Southeast Asia during seasonal moments centered on love and relationships.
Romance continues to lead
Among the featured titles is “Positively Yours,” a Viki Original starring Choi Jin-hyuk and Oh Yeon-seo. According to the platform, the series ranked among the Top 3 weekly titles in Southeast Asia during its premiere week.
