
A wedding in Davao del Norte continued outside the church after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake disrupted the ceremony.
A viral video captured the moment the powerful tremor struck on Friday, October 10, halting the procession as a guest walking down the aisle suddenly stopped upon feeling the ground shake. Moments later, attendees rushed outside for safety.
The incident occurred at Sto. Niño Parish in Barangay Sto. Niño, Talaingod.
The priest and bride were seen outside the church following the tremor, while the groom had been standing at the front of the altar when the quake struck.
Kimmy Ugapay, the groom’s sister, shared that the wedding ceremony continued outside the church for safety reasons after the earthquake.
“Yes, after the earthquake, sir, pinagpatuloy naman po [‘yung kasal] pero sa labas na lang po ng simbahan,” she told GMA Regional TV News.
“May hinimatay na ninang, pero okay naman ngayon. Natapos around 12 noon na po,” Ugapay added.
On the morning of October 10, a powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck offshore of Davao Oriental, prompting the issuance of a tsunami warning for affected coastal areas.

The epicenter was recorded at approximately 44 kilometers northeast of Manay town in Davao Oriental.
Later that evening, another strong magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Oriental.
The initial tremor left at least one individual dead.
