TV and social media personality Awra Briguela rushed herself to a hospital Emergency Room (ER) after suffering from severe stomach pain and vomiting yellow bile.
The former child star took to Instagram Stories to share her ordeal, saying that she woke up experiencing the symptoms.
Awra said it took her about afn hour and 30 minutes before deciding to go to the hospital, as she could no longer tolerate the pain.
She said that she immediately vomited again upon reaching the ER and felt she was about to lose consciousness.
Awra explained that she was alone in her condominium unit, with her mother later accompanying her after the incident.
She admitted that her condition was partly self-inflicted, attributing it to coffee consumption and failing to eat properly.
“After doing lab tests and everything, final diagnosis is Acute Gastroenteritis with mild to moderate dehydration — probably from not eating properly these past few days (puro black americano lang) and kulang sa water,” she wrote in an IG Story.
A Black Americano is an espresso-based drink with a strength similar to brewed coffee but with a distinct, richer flavor profile.
Awra shared that she “almost got confined” in the hospital because she kept asking for a pain reliever, saying the pain in her stomach would not subside.
“But thankfully, normal naman lahat ng results. I’m okay now —just need to rest, fix my eating, and take my meds,” she wrote.
Awra also reacted to those who have been posting negative comments about her condition on social media.
“Grabe, sobrang sama ng ugali ng mga tao ngayon,” she wrote in an IG Story with a broken heart emoji.
Meanwhile, acute gastroenteritis is a common condition primarily caused by viral infections. It is characterized by inflammation of the stomach and intestines, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting.
