“Pepito Manaloto” star Mikoy Morales shared that he received a message from Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards about his wedding invitation, which was earlier misread by John Feir.
In a YouLOL exclusive on Monday, January 5, Mikoy said he received messages from individuals for being unable to attend his wedding to his non-showbiz girlfriend.
The actor expressed surprise after they cited “work” commitments in March, the scheduled month of the nuptials.
The individuals realized their mistake, explaining that they thought the wedding would take place in January.
The confusion stemmed from the invitation, which indicated that guests should RSVP or confirm their availability on or before January 3.
Mikoy clarified that the actual wedding date is in March.
“Tapos, may nag-message pa, si Tisoy!” he shared with John in the YouLOL exclusive.
“Tisoy” is the nickname of Alden, referring to his fair complexion.
“Si Alden, nag-message na, ‘Sorry, Mikoy, hindi ako nakapunta, nasa malayong lugar pa ko,'” Mikoy continued.
“Sabi ko, eh kakausap pa lang natin nun, sabi ko, ‘Isa ka pa. Huwag ka nang tumulad dito.’ Ta’s pinakita ko ‘yung screenshot ng usapan natin, Kuya John. ‘Si Kuya John, nandun kanina. Huwag ka nang tumulad,'” the actor added, replaying his conversation with Alden.
“Alam mo, Mikoy, ‘yung magkakamukha, nagkakamali talaga,” John said with a laugh.
The exchange caught the attention of Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital, which shared screenshots of the conversation on its Facebook page on January 7.
The post has since gone viral, earning more than 17,000 likes, 27 comments, and 155 shares.
The anecdote involving Alden amused some Facebook users, who commented:
“Isipin mo kung si Alden um-attend ng kasal na ‘yun…” a Facebook user wrote, referring to the January 3 wedding that John had mistakenly attended in Makati.
“Kung nagkataon, [dalawa] pa sila,” another user commented, referring to the supposed unexpected attendance of John and Alden at someone else’s wedding.
“Pati si Alden, hahaha,” a different Pinoy wrote.
“Ano kaya kung dalawa sila ni Alden, ahahahaha, sobrang epic nun,” another one commented.
“Nakaligtas si Alden,” a different Facebook user commented.
On January 3, John amused Mikoy and other Filipinos after he shared that he had attended someone else’s wedding on the date Mikoy’s guests were supposed to RSVP.
Mikoy explained that John had only read the “January 3” portion of the invitation and missed the RSVP instructions, mistakenly thinking that the nuptials were scheduled for that date.
“Ayun, dumating kanina. Pagdating niya lahat naka-suit, siya lang ang naka-Barong. Pina-gitna pa siya at ginandahan daw ng anggulo ‘yung pagkuha sa kanya ng photo [or] video. Wala siyang nakilala at iba daw hitsura ng groom,” Mikoy shared in a post.
The post caught the attention of a local clothing brand, which quipped, “Anong episode na ba ng Pepito ‘to?”
“Pepito Manaloto” is a long-running family sitcom on GMA Network that follows the rags-to-riches journey of an ordinary man, Pepito (played by Michael V.), who is blessed with extraordinary luck after winning the lottery.
