Filipinos had a laugh referencing the situational comedy “Pepito Manaloto” after one of its actors, John Feir, attended a wedding he mistakenly thought was his co-star’s.

The long-running Kapuso sitcom stars John as Patrick, a hotdog expert, and Mikoy Morales as Roxy Ocampo.

On Saturday, January 3, Mikoy shared that John had accidentally attended someone else’s wedding in Makati that day, even surprising the studio crew that had shown up to cover the nuptials.

“Patrick: Tama, January 3, ‘di ba?” Ikigai Studio wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday, January 4, tagging Mikoy.

The post featured a picture of John standing with an unreadable expression.

Mikoy, who is set to marry his non-showbiz girlfriend this March, said that John was the only guest who wore a barong at that Saturday wedding, adding that his co-star had misunderstood the invitation and thought the ceremony was on January 3.

“Kwento: Sa March pa ang kasal at ang nakalagay sa invitation ay ‘Please RSVP on or before Jan. 3.’ Eh ‘Jan 3’ lang ‘yung nabasa,” Mikoy said in a Facebook post, sharing a message he received from John.

“RSVP” means “please respond” on invitations.

“Ayun, dumating kanina. Pagdating niya lahat naka-suit, siya lang ang naka-Barong. Pina-gitna pa siya at ginandahan daw ng anggulo ‘yung pagkuha sa kanya ng photo [or] video. Wala siyang nakilala at iba daw hitsura ng groom,” Mikoy said.

“Tsaka lang tumawag kay Chariz Solomon para magtanong at magkwento at ayun nga, confirmed: Na-Patrick siya in real life,” he added, referencing another one of their co-stars in the sitcom, who plays Janice San Diego-Generoso.

“Kaya advance thank you sa pagpunta, kuya John! I-kain mo na lang ‘yan ng hatdog!” Mikoy continued, referencing his co-actor’s sitcom character quirk.

“UPDATE: Siya lang ‘yung naka-Barong AT ‘yung groom. Buti hindi nalito ‘yung bride,” the actor added.

His post was shared by a local clothing brand, which quipped, “Anong episode na ba ng Pepito ‘to?”

The post has earned over 3,400 likes and reactions, 64 shares and more than 13 comments from users, many of whom expressed similar reactions.

“Parang magandang episode ‘to ah,” a Facebook user wrote with a laughing emoji.

“Madami sigurong hotdog,” the clothing brand jokingly replied.

“Makikikain lang ng hotdog ‘yan, hahahahha!!! Buti ‘di kasama [si] Hello, My Friend, hahhaha!! Kundi lahat nautangan,” another commented with emojis.

“Shaaaa, anong episode daw ‘to? Hahahahahahaha,” a different Facebook user with a laughing emoji, tagging a friend.

“Pepito Manaloto” is a long-running family sitcom on GMA Network that follows the rags-to-riches journey of an ordinary man, Pepito (played by Michael V.), who is blessed with extraordinary luck after winning the lottery.

The sitcom is the brainchild of three-time Asian TV Awards Best Comedy Actor Michael V.
