Filipinos expressed amusement at one of the emoji updates set to be included in Apple‘s upcoming operating system.
The tech giant regularly adds new emojis when rolling out software updates for products like the iPhone and iPad.
Among the reported new addition is the “distorted face” emoji, described Emojipedia as “a smiley face with large distorted eyes, facing upwards.”
Reports said it will be available in the iOS 26.4.
A Facebook page noted the new emoji resembles a meme featuring Kapuso heartthrob Alden Richards.
“Apple to release new set of emojis which includes ‘Paano ‘yung gulat?’ emoticon inspired by Alden Richards! Eme,” the page quipped.
“Ayyy, oo nga! Hahahahahaha,” a Facebook user wrote.
“Mukhang magiging fave emoji mo ‘to,” another wrote, tagging a friend.
“Hahaha… ikaw na talaga, Alden, dami mong memes,” a different Facebook user commented.
“Finally, ‘yung paborito kong emoji, nasa iOS na, haha,” another said.
The image of Alden appears to be taken from the 2019 drama series “The Gift.”
It was also used as a meme by GMA in 2021.

Last year, the actor also poked fun at a photo of him with his tongue out, which has similarly become a meme.
