One of the leading finance apps unveiled the fifth installment of its video series, highlighting real-life stories of hope, hard work and resilience, in Bacolod City on Wednesday, July 30.

The latest story spotlights Rhea Inayan, a top Pera Outlet partner, who shares her inspiring journey of perseverance and new beginnings, a tribute to Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Month in the Philippines this July.

“Nagsimula siya sa isang pangarap, isang maliit na negosyo na buong pusong pinaghirapan niya. […] Pero kahit mahirap, tuloy lang, hindi sumusuko ang mga negosyanteng Pilipino,” said Martha Sazon, President and CEO of Mynt, during the film’s launch.

Rhea, a local business owner from Bacolod, was forced to close her business, “Tatti Boutique,” due to a health crisis during the pandemic.

Encouraged by her late mother, she eventually reopened her shop and partnered with the e-wallet giant, offering essential financial services such as bill payments and money transfers to her community.

“Huwag kayo matakot magsimula, kahit maliit lang, ako mismo do’n ako nagsimula sa simpleng tindahan lang. […] Sa bawat suki na pumapasok, sa bawat bayarin na natatapos, alam kong may kwento ‘yung aking inaambag at ayun ‘yung gusto kong maramdaman ng mga tao na sa bawat maliit na negosyo, pwedeng maging malaking epekto sa komunidad at makatulong tayo sa tao,” Rhea shared in her heartfelt message to fellow entrepreneurs.

The tribute film featuring Rhea’s story was directed by Borgy Torre, inspiring the public to start again.

“This is a story of closed chapters and the strength to start again. A story that makes you say ‘Kaya pala!’, with the help of GCash,” it said.

It has so far garnered over one million views on YouTube.

The #GCashStories digital series showcases real stories of progress and resilience, showcasing how Filipinos continue to transform their lives with the help of the e-wallet platform.

Previous episodes include the journey of Cocoy Rubio, a bartender-turned-business owner; Ate Alma Fermano, a university staff member who rebuilt her home with the help of community donations; Turing Quinto, a drag performer and family breadwinner; and Adz Dumapong, a Paralympic medalist who champions support for grassroots para-athletes.
