Filmed in the island province in February 2025, the show features Cebu’s coastal scenery, resorts and tourism establishments. Some tourism frontliners and hospitality workers also appear in scenes, highlighting Filipino service and hospitality.
The series stars BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and South Korean actor Seo In-guk, who also serves as the Philippines’ celebrity Tourism Ambassador.

Jisoo took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes photos from the series’ filming in Cebu.
“UY PHILIPPINES! Hope you had an amazing time,” Netflix Philippines commented on Jisoo’s post.
A resort in Cebu also posted photos of Jisoo’s stay.
“Did that scene look familiar? Bluewater Maribago makes a special appearance in Episode 6 of the Netflix Originals Series, Boyfriend on Demand, starring Jisoo and Seo In-Guk!” Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort wrote.
“We’re thrilled to see a piece of Cebu shining on screen in this Korean Drama,” it added.
According to the Department of Tourism, the production was coordinated by its Korea office together with the agency’s Office of Film and Sports Tourism, the DOT Regional Office VII, and tourism stakeholders in Cebu. Airport authorities also assisted the cast and production crew during filming.
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said showcasing destinations through international productions helps boost the country’s tourism profile.
“Under President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s Administration, we continue to highlight not only breathtaking destinations of the Philippines but also the warmth and professionalism of our tourism workers who help create memorable visitor experiences. Through the continued collaboration of our overseas offices, local stakeholders, and industry partners, we hope to welcome more travelers to discover the diverse experiences that the country has to offer,” Frasco said.
“When our destinations gain global visibility, it creates opportunities that benefit our tourism frontliners and local communities who help deliver the memorable experiences that keep visitors coming back,” she added.
The tourism department said Cebu remains one of the most popular destinations among South Korean travelers, who continue to make up the Philippines’ largest inbound market.
Data from the agency show that 1,346,301 South Koreans visited the Philippines last year, accounting for 20.76% of total international arrivals.
Meanwhile, “Boyfriend on Demand,” which premiered March 6, follows a young woman who signs up for a virtual dating service that allows her to experience different romantic scenarios.
All 10 episodes are currently available on Netflix, where the show ranks No. 4 among Top Shows in the Philippines.
