
The Philippines has been nominated in multiple categories at the World Travel Awards 2026 as global voting for the international tourism awards program opens.
Among the categories are Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, Asia’s Leading Island Destination and Asia’s Leading Tourist Board for the Department of Tourism (Philippines). Several local destinations were also nominated, including Boracay, Cebu, Intramuros, Clark Freeport Zone and the province of Aurora.
The country has consistently been recognized in previous editions of the awards, earning distinctions across tourism segments such as beach, dive and island destinations.
In separate posts, the Department of Tourism called on the public to support the country’s bids.
“VOTE FOR THE PHILIPPINES! From stunning white-sand beaches to crystal-clear waters and shorelines, the Philippines is once again nominated in the World Travel Awards as Asia’s Leading Beach Destination 2026,” the agency said, adding that the country has consistently taken the title.
“The Philippines is aiming for an 8-year winning streak as Asia’s Leading Dive Destination —and your vote can help make it happen!” it added.
“Let’s bring home another win,” the DOT said.

Supporters may vote for the Philippines by following these steps:

- Verify the email address used for registration
- Log in and select the Philippines in all nominated categories
Voting is open until July 17, 2026.

The WTA, established in 1993, recognizes achievements in the global travel and tourism industry, covering destinations, airlines, hotels and tourism organizations. Winners are determined through public voting and industry participation.
The Philippines hosted the 31st WTA’s Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony in September 2024. It was the first time the country hosted the WTA, with the ceremony held at the City of Dreams.
