What began as an ordinary bus ride turned into an unforgettable moment when a stranger’s handwritten note reached a commuter weighed down by heavy thoughts.

Facebook user Narvic Vale Gianan shared on January 27 that he received a note from a fellow passenger while riding a bus from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) bound for SM Fairview.

During the ride, Narvic said he was feeling emotional and could not help but shed tears as he looked out the window during the ride, despite trying to hold them back.

He recalled that while they were in the Quiapo area of Manila, a fellow commuter began writing something on a piece of paper.

Narvic said he did not notice it at first, as he did not know the individual.

Narvic said the note simply read, “Open,” accompanied by a smiling emoticon.

“Hindi man kilala personal, pero naniniwala ako sayo! Magiging okay ang lahat!” the message reads.

Narvic said he appreciated the gesture, adding that he found it heartwarming.

Saludo sayo! God bless your heart, Kuys! Sana makaabot sayo itong pasasalamat ko,” Narvic added.

His Facebook post has garnered 6,700 likes and reactions, 718 shares and nearly 80 comments.

Narvic also said that he would like to “meet” the commuter who gave him the note.

Randomly handing out notes is uncommon among commuters, who are often engrossed in their own thoughts and concerns.
