A 12-year-old clip from an “Umagang Kay Ganda” segment featuring journalists Atom Araullo and Zen Hernandez resurfaced after Atom recently confirmed being in a long-term relationship.
On July 4, 2013, ABS-CBN uploaded a video from the morning show’s “To Whom It May Concern” segment.
Hosted by Winnie Cordero, the segment featured a letter sender seeking advice after her boyfriend had been acting cold toward her.
The segment also allowed journalists to give advice to the letter sender, showing Zen reporting from Quaipo, and Atom from the Manila Ocean Park.
Winnie explained that they were also included in case their names were drawn from a bowl to give advice. Zen’s name was picked, and she was tasked with responding to the letter sender.
She suggested that the sender have a heart-to-heart talk with her boyfriend to identify any issues in their relationship and also advised her to reflect on whether she might be doing anything that could upset him.
Meanwhile, Atom, who was live at the time, kept making expressive reactions, prompting Winnie to turn the spotlight on him as well.
“Parang may nag-re-react, Zen, no, may nag-re-react, ‘yung katabi mo sa window, o. ‘Yung tawa nang tawa diyan,” Winnie said, gesturing to Atom.
She then asked why Atom was laughing. He briefly joked before later agreeing with Zen’s advice, saying it was “good.”
Despite being 12 years old, the clip recently gained attention as some Filipinos revisited Atom and Zen’s appearance following his recent admission.
“Sino kaya nandito ngayon nung pumatok ang balita ngayon,” a YouTube user wrote on Nov. 29, 2025.
“Hahahaha, meeeee, so kilig,” another commented.
The clip also caught the attention of an entertainment news site, which shared it on Facebook, garnering over 4,700 likes and reactions.
“Tamis!” a Facebook user quipped.
“Nangiti ako, litaw pa gums. Ang tamis tamis naman kasi,” another commented with emojis.
On November 28, Atom appeared on the talk show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where he confirmed having a girlfriend when asked about it.
“Matagal na. How many years? See — We don’t even count. It’s been a while,” the journalist replied.
“She is public. I think people know. People on social media know. They see us outside,” Atom added.
He also said that he fell in love with a co-worker and that he is ready to settle down.
Atom has been rumored to be in a relationship with fellow broadcast journalist Zen Hernandez, with their relationship said to have begun while they were both at ABS-CBN..
