A restaurant in San Mateo, Rizal apologized to the public following an incident over its 80-meter hanging bridge on Sunday, November 23.

The Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant on Sunday addressed the incident, saying that one of its attractions, a newly installed hanging bridge, had “partially” given way earlier that day.

“Thankfully, no one was harmed and everyone has been properly taken care of. Our team immediately responded to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests present,” it said in a Facebook post.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress this incident may have caused. Please be assured that we are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness,” the restaurant added.

It also said that a “full investigation is underway” and that it is “committed to determining the exact cause of the failure.”

The restaurant added that it would hold those responsible for installing the hanging bridge accountable.

“Our legal counsel is also evaluating possible actions against the contractor responsible for the bridge installation, as well as any personnel who may have contributed to the incident. Your safety remains our highest priority,” it said.

The establishment assured the public that the restaurant and its other amenities “remain fully operational.”

“Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support,” it concluded.

A review of other platforms shows a TikTok user posting a video of the restaurant’s hanging bridge giving way.

“Caza Peregrine Hanging Bridge Incident. Thank you, Lord, [we’re] safe,” TikTok user @mommynitinay wrote on Sunday.

In the video, the TikTok user was walking with a male companion when the bridge suddenly gave way.

“Sinabi ko na,” her male companion said in the end.

In the comments section, the TikTok user said they were unaware that the hanging bridge had a limit of 10 people at a time.

“Lumundo po ‘yung bridge, hindi namin alam na 10 [ten] person lang ang capacity na dapat pinapatulay nila, pero that time po, every 20 person ang pinapatulay nila, dahil siguro sa haba ng pila,” she commented to another TikTok user.

The restaurant has an 80-meter hanging bridge, which it promotes as offering “panoramic views” to visitors.

Apart from the hanging bridge, the Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant is a mountainside destination featuring a tree-top viewing deck of the famed Sierra Madre, accommodations such as the “Kubo Room” and the “Glass Room,” and Filipino dishes like crispy pata.
