A driving school flagged a video showing male individuals dancing and hanging around a traditional jeepney traversing in Metro Manila.

On Tuesday, September 9, Majesty Driving School reposted a Facebook Reel showing three males hanging around a jeepney. One of them was standing on the roof and dancing.

“Kulang na po ba tayo sa kapulisan ngayon?” the driving school wrote.

The video was originally posted by Tristan Carpio, who wrote, “Galing ahh, perwisyo.”

Some Filipinos claimed the incident occurred along Quezon Avenue.

The driving school’s post has garnered 7,200 likes and reactions, 1,800 shares and 2,000 comments.

“[Lakas] tama…” a Facebook user commented.

“Panis! Lakas tama,” a different online user wrote

“Delikado ‘yang gawa niyo,” another Pinoy said.

“Kasalanan na naman ng driver pag nahulog, sasabihin kawawa ang anak nila,” a Facebook user said.

Others responded to the driving school’s question on police presence.

“Hindi kulang sa pulis. Kulang sa kusa,” a Facebook user replied.

“Hindi kulang sa pulis, kulang lang sa katinuan,” another commented.

It is a common sight in Metro Manila for chance passengers, often referred to as “sabits,” to hang out at the back of jeepneys. Usually, these individuals, mostly street children, do not pay for fares.

While there is no national law against the practice, the City of Manila has an ordinance prohibiting it on jeepneys and other public utility vehicles.

The ordinance was enacted to reduce vehicular accidents in the city.

“Hindi magandang tingnan, lalo na sa highly-urbanized city… ‘yun po talaga ang aming concern, ‘yung safety and security of the passengers. Especially, the students,” Manila Councilor Martin Isidro Jr., principal author of the ordinance, previously said.
