Actor Alex Medina urged Facebook users to “mass report” a page claiming that his father, veteran actor Pen Medina, has passed away.
The younger actor on Thursday, August 7, reshared a post by the Facebook page “Pinoy Glam.”
“SHOCKING REVELATIONS: Veteran Actor Pen Medina Has Passed Away — But What His Family Finally Revealed About His Final Days Has Left Fans in Tears,” the post read.
It also included images of Pen in a hospital bed.
Alex shared the post and urged the public to report the page spreading false information.
“FAKE NEWS, PAKI-MASS REPORT, TAKE DOWN ‘TO PARA ‘DI PAGKAPERAHAN ANG FAKE NEWS,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the “Pinoy Glam” post also linked to an article in the comments section, claiming that “Pen has died.”
Pen himself also flagged the content.
“FAKE NEWS!!” he exclaimed with emojis of an angry face and prohibited signs.
Pen is a 74-year-old actor whose career started in theater, where he appeared in stage plays.
In the 1980s, he started to venture into films and television shows.
Pen has received acting accolades from the Metro Manila Film Festival, Cinema One Originals, FAMAS, and the Film Academy of the Philippines, among others.
