Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre responded to a basher who commented about his activity after clocking in at the office.

The former top cop replied to a Facebook user who claimed he would be “sleeping” after clocking in after biking to his office.

At that time, Torre shared his “successful” bike travel going to work on February 10.

He said it took him an hour to travel 18 kilometers because he had chosen a “scenic route” at the time.

Torre’s video was reposted by a news publication, earning comments from different users. One wrote, “‘Pag time in, sabay tulog.”

It caught the attention of the MMDA general manager, who responded with an illustration of his schedule for that day.

“Eto sched ko sa araw na ‘yan, ma’am. Pasensya na, kailangan kong gising habang ginagawa ang trabaho ko. Are you speaking from experience in your work na nakahiga habang nagta-trabaho, then, pagkatapos ay diretso tulog?” Torre commented.

Full-day schedule

The schedule showed a series of engagements, including a breakfast meeting, three courtesy calls, other meetings and a radio guesting, ending with a planned dinner.

Torre has been promoting biking as an alternative mode of transport since his appointment to the MMDA last month.

In previous posts, he said he had advocated cycling even during his time in the police service.

Torre was previously lauded for his initiative, with Filipinos commending him for leading by example.
