The local government units of Quezon City and Naga City, Camarines Sur reaffirmed their Sister City partnership on Tuesday, August 26.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and the QC LGU staff welcomed Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo in Quezon City on the same day.
Belmonte said part of Robredo’s visit was to renew the Sister City Agreement between the two cities, which was originally signed in 2017.
“Sa tulong nito, mas makakapagbahagi sila sa isa’t isa ng kani-kanilang mga best practice, at mas madaling makakapagpadala ng tulong sa panahon na ito’y kakailanganin,” Belmonte wrote in her social media post.The agreement aims to further strengthen ties and cooperation between the two local government units.
The Department of Interior and Local Government said a Philippine sister city agreement is a social and cooperative arrangement between a local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines and a foreign local government, aiming to foster goodwill, friendship, and exchanges in various sectors like culture, trade and technology.
