Showbiz personality Kris Aquino made a surprise appearance on “Eat Bulaga” on Thursday, June 25, delighting supporters and fans of the actress-host, who had been on hiatus to prioritize her health.

The “Queen of All Media” appeared on the longtime noontime program to support her youngest son, Bimby Aquino Yap, during his stint as co-host.

This marked her first live television appearance after a prolonged hiatus as she continues to manage multiple autoimmune conditions following her initial diagnosis in 2018.

During the episode, Kris drew attention with one of her signature candid quips, introducing herself as Ryzza Mae Dizon‘s “future mother-in-law. Ryzza, a former child star, is also a co-host of the show.

“Mag-kiss ka sa future mother-in-law mo,” Kris quipped.

“Ang laki ng ginanda mo! I think dahil may nagpapaganda sa’yo,” she added.

Kris’ appearance, though brief, drew cheers from the audience, especially after she joked about pairing her son with Ryzza Mae.

“I love you to all, Dabarkads! Can I guest host next time?” she told the audience, drawing even louder cheers from the crowd.

Kris’ appearance on national television also generated buzz online, with her name trending on X (formerly Twitter) in the Philippines.

“Happy Kris Aquino is slowly but surely getting back on screen. Can’t wait for a podcast or a talk show, just like the old times,” an online user commented.

“OMG!!! THE QUEEN OF ALL MEDIA, THE OG [ORIGINAL] TALAKERA, MISS KRIS AQUINO!!! WE MISS YOU, MADAM!” another X user wrote.

“Magaling na siya, sana magkaroon ulit siya ng talk show,”  a different Pinoy commented.

“Sobrang nakaka-miss si Tetay on national TV. I’m so happy to see na she looks healthy [and] doing well na talaga. Sana magkaroon na ulit siya ng talk show or podcast soon,” another wrote.

“Nakakatuwa na nagpakita si Kris Aquino sa Eat Bulaga, huhu, sana tuloy-tuloy na ‘yung paggaling niya para mapanood na natin siya ulit nang mas matagal sa TV!” writer Noelle Capili-Ruiz commented.

“I’m so happy na she’s getting better! She’s like, one of my OG local celeb kweens!” another X user wrote.

Kris has not appeared on national or live television since stepping back from show business, although she has been spotted attending events such as the Stargate’s People of the Year 2025 Awards Night and a buffet dinner with actor Dingdong Dantes.

Earlier this year, she hinted at a possible comeback to show business, promising “once a week sit-down interviews” and sharing “new home cooking recipes made simpler,” among other projects.

Kris is battling multiple autoimmune diseases, which make her health condition fragile. These include rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, lupus (SLE), fibromyalgia, polymyositis and mixed connective tissue disease.

An autoimmune disease occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells, perceiving them as foreign invaders such as bacteria or viruses.

Meanwhile, Kris is known for her high energy, candid comments, and quick wit during her hosting days. She has hosted talk shows such as “Kris TV” and “The Buzz.”

She is also recognized for her blockbuster horror movies, having starred in movies such as “Feng Shui,” “Sukob” and “Segunda Mano.”
