Actor Joseph Bitangcol said he believes it is “impossible” for his ex-girlfriend, Sandara Park, to be involved in drug abuse after accusations made by her former girl groupmate.
The actor was asked for his reaction to allegations that the former 2NE1 member used illegal drugs, which surfaced in a handwritten note by fellow 2NE1 member Park Bom.
Earlier this month, Bom revisited her 2014 drug controversy, claiming she had been used to divert attention from Sandara’s alleged “drug abuse.”
“It is not a drug. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder. Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me,” Bom wrote in a now-deleted post.
In 2010, Bom was accused of importing Adderall into South Korea. The case was later suspended after authorities determined that the medication had been legally prescribed for treatment. Adderall is commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy.
In a recent interview, Joseph was asked about his reaction to Bom’s accusation.
“For me, imposible ‘yun. Imposible… matagal ko rin siya nakasama. Matagal ko siyang nakasama, siyempre, ang masasabi ko, kilala ko ‘yung pagkatao niyan,” he said.
“At tsaka ‘yung sacrifice niya para sa family niya kaya tumanda siya na talagang naka-focus sa trabaho, para sa family, para sa career, so, I’m sure hindi niya gagawin ‘yun. Yosi, inum lang, hirap paanuhin nun… drugs pa,” Joseph added.
“I’m sure, 100% percent never niya gagawin ‘yun,” he said.
Sandara had earlier posted a brief note on Instagram Stories, saying, “I have never used drugs. I wish her well.”
Joseph was in a relationship with Sandara for nearly three years before she moved back to South Korea. He was her first boyfriend.
The two met as contestants on ABS-CBN’s “Star Circle Quest,” a reality competition show, in 2004. They also appeared together in the romantic-comedy film “D’ Lucky Ones.”
Joseph is now married, while Sandara does not appear to be dating anyone.
