Singer Jireh Lim reacted after Facebook flagged his Reel with a “copyright infringement” notice when he used his own song in the video.
The “Buko” hitmaker on Sunday, February 22 shared a screengrab of the social networking platform flagging one of his Reels, which contained his hit 2013 song.
“When Facebook says: sir, that song, Buko is copyrighted’… Gusto ko replyan: bro, ako ‘to, oh! Ako ‘to!” the artist said in a Facebook post.
“JIREH LIM! JIREH LIM! ‘Yung nagsulat mismo ng kanta na ‘yan. Hays,” Jireh added with a face-holding-back-tears emoij.
The notice reads:

Multiple rights owners requested changes to your video because a large amount of their music was detected. The rights owner will now: Claim all earnings
Your earnings are only claimed on this reel. This will not affect your Page or the ability to monetize.
Jireh’s post has earned 18,000 likes and reactions, 548 comments, and 502 shares from online users.
The artist previously posted a video of him singing “Buko” with the following caption: “Intro pa lang, alam mo na. ‘Pag narinig mo ang intro na ‘to, anong naaalala mo?”
Jireh became known for his song “Buko,” short for “Buhay Ko,” which he initially uploaded on YouTube.
It leaped into mainstream success after going viral on the video-sharing platform, entering a music channel’s chart and dominating radio airwaves in Metro Manila and other provinces such as Lucena, Palawan, Cotabato, Cagayan, and Pampanga.
The artist said the song was inspired by the love story of his grandparents, noting that his grandfather was 10 years older and a janitor.
Meanwhile, his grandmother was a school principal.
“Kasi para sa akin, sobrang mahiwaga ang pag-iibigan nila,” Jireh said before.
“Sa lugar namin, ‘yung lola ko, parang sila ‘yung may-ari ng mga lupa. So siyempre, tutol ‘yung family sa lolo ko, pero ipinaglaban niya talaga [‘yung pag-iibigan nila],” he added.
Apart from “Buko,” Jireh is known for the songs “Magkabilang Mundo” and “Pagsuko.”
