Sen. Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian sparked curiosity after candidly answering a lighthearted question about his personal life.
The exchange happened during an interview on Tuesday, January 20, with broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “On Point”, where Gatchalian discussed the ongoing flood control corruption probe and the 2026 national budget.
Toward the end of the interview, Sanchez asked in a casual tone, “Oh, by the way, your love life, how is it?” and accompanied her question with a slight smile.
“It’s non-existent,” Gatchalian gamely replied.
This made Sanchez laugh, and she said, “I’m kidding. I didn’t think you would even answer. Okay. Thank you so much.”
“It suits you, it suits you, sir, blooming po kayo,” the journalist said.
“Ilaw lang ‘yan, ilaw. Gabi na eh,” Gatchalian quipped.
The candid moment caught the attention of Filipinos, who became intrigued with the lawmaker’s personal life.
“Ahh, hiwalay na sila ni Bianca?” a Facebook user asked.
“Awww, wala na sila ni Bianca Manalo??” another asked.
Gatchalian was romantically linked with actress Bianca Manalo, who represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2009. The couple had been together since 2018.
In January 2025, breakup rumors surrounded the couple after a showbiz website reported that “they no longer have photos together [toward] the end of November 2024.”
Gatchalian was also asked about the speculation and replied, “No comment,” when questioned about having a companion during the 2024 holidays.

In 2023, leaked conversations between Bianca and her co-star, actor Rob Gomez, sparked speculations of an affair.
The actress dismissed the claims as “false rumors” and “unfounded accusations,” describing Rob as a friend.
Gatchalian, meanwhile, said his relationship with Bianca was “going strong” at the time.
