Former Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) national director Shamcey Supsup-Lee admitted that she was still reflecting on the results of the Miss Universe 2025 amid the controversy.
On Sunday, November 23, the Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up shared her thoughts about the conclusion of one of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageants held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, November 21.
At the 74th edition, Mexico’s Fatima Bosch Fernandez won the crown, while Thailand’s Praveenar Singh, Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yace placed as first through fourth runners-up.

“The emotional roller coaster of Miss Universe 2025,” Shamcey began in her Facebook post.
“Trading sleep for sparkle! Woke up before the sun to make it to the venue by 7 a.m. Walking in and seeing a sea of dedicated Pinoys was the best start. The collective hope and positive energy for @ahtisa was obvious, especially after her incredible prelims run!” she added.
“Good luck charm activated: sat right next to my OG 2018 MU seatmate, @joryrivera. Our bet gave a stellar, unforgettable performance!” Shamcey continued, referring to pageant correspondent Jory Rivera.
Shamcey then shared her feelings about the results.
“I’m still processing the results, but it’s a powerful reminder that sometimes, things are simply out of our control. So proud of the PH [Philippine] team and every single supporter. Until the next crown!” she said.
Issues
Before the coronation, Fatima was publicly berated by Miss Universe Organization (MUO) executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil in the generation orientation and sashing ceremony for failing to participate in a sponsor shoot intended to promote the host country.

Fatima explained that she was simply following the instructions of Miss Universe Mexico, headed by Raul Rocha Cantu — who also serves as the current president of MUO.
Raul later announced that he would restrict Nawat’s participation in the pageant. Nawat meanwhile, apologized, saying he had been under pressure as the head organizer of the competition.
Days before the coronation, Lebanese-French composer Omar Harfouch, one of the judges on the Miss Universe 2025 panel, resigned and alleged that MUO had predetermined the semifinal results.
Omar later called Fatima a “fake Miss Universe” and claimed that her victory was influenced by her family’s business ties with Raul. He alleged that Raul and his son urged him to vote for Fatima before because “it will be good for our business.”
The composer added that he was consulting with a law firm to prepare a formal complaint against the MUO for “fraud, corruption, conflict of interest, and reputational harm.”
Raul has since denied these allegations.
