Actress Angel Locsin appealed to the public to be more understanding of her stepson Joaquin Arce following his appearance in the latest edition of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.”
The actress, who is in showbiz hiatus, took to the X (formerly Twitter) platform to raise awareness about his condition, saying that he is “completely deaf in his right ear.”
Angel reposted a post by the account of the television series that featured Joaquin in the right picture.
She then said how “proud” she is of her stepson, who became a Star Magic talent last July.
“I don’t usually comment, but seeing Joaquin grow from a little boy into someone who helps, listens, and keeps the peace at home makes me proud,” the actress said with a heart emoji.
“If he ever talks a bit loud or doesn’t respond, please forgive him — our son is completely deaf in his right ear,” she added.

Her post has earned 19,000 likes, 1,000 reposts, and 92 replies from Filipinos, with some noting that she has been occasionally active on social media due to her stepson.
“Si Joaquin Arce pala ang susi sa pagiging active ni Angel sa social media,” someone wrote with emojis of heart-eyed and starry-eyed faces.
“Ms. Angel always speaking up for others,” another user commented.
“Thank you for this Darna, now we understand,” commented a different Pinoy, referencing one of Angel’s most iconic roles in her career. In 2005, she starred on GMA’s television series featuring the Pinoy superheroine.
Joaquin recently joined “PBB” for its new season.
He is the son of Angel’s husband, film producer Neil Arce, in his previous relationship.
Star Magic described Joaquin as “an actor and host in the making.”
