Actress Inah de Belen, the eldest daughter of Janice de Belen and John Estrada, responded to comments about her living arrangement with her long-time boyfriend, actor Jake Vargas.
It started when the 33-year-old actress posted a Facebook Reel of her dancing with her boyfriend.
Some social media users then began commenting on the couple’s living situation.
“Ang babata pa, nag-live in na,” a Facebook user wrote on September 29.
It caught the attention of the actress, who responded: “Nay, 33 years old na po kami, mag-research po muna kayo.”
Her response has earned over 2,000 reactions.
Another Facebook user commented with a cry face emoji: “Ang babata pa, nag-live [in] na agad, magkahiwalay din ‘yan kapag nagkasawaan na.”
“We’re adults, but thank you, haha,” Inah replied.
The actress later expressed gratitude to people who aired their support for her amid the negative comments. While she did directly address her living-in setup, her responses to the video were recently reported by a showiz blog.
“Inah de Belen Politely Responds to Comments on Being Too Young for Living-in,” the blog said on Monday, October 6.
“Hello, everyone! Honestly, I didn’t expect ganitong positive responses. Thank you so much sa lahat ng nag-send ng love and good vibes,” the actress wrote on Facebook on the same day.
“Sana matutunan natin lahat na irespeto ang choices ng isa’t isa at ‘wag ipilit ang paniniwala natin sa iba. Hangga’t wala namang naaapakang tao, hayaan na lang nating mamuhay ang bawat isa sa paraan na nagpapasaya sa kanila,” Inah added.
“Life’s lighter that way! More kindness, more love, less judgment,” she continued.
Inah and Jake first worked together in the 2016 Kapuso drama series “Oh, My Mama!” They went public with their relationship in 2017.
In February 2024, it was reported that the couple had been living together for almost two years already at that point.
A living-in setup refers to a romantic arrangement where both partners choose to live together without the formal bond of marriage.
