In a heartwarming moment, fast food chain workers threw an impromptu party for a homeless pensioner.
The staff invited the elderly man, who had been helping customers park their cars outside the Jollibee-Kabankalan, Negros Occidental branch, to come inside before surprising him with the celebration.
Footage shows the grandfather beaming with joy as he holds the balloons given to him by the kindhearted fast food chain employees in Negros Occidental.
They prepared a bucket of fried chicken and a cake to give him while cheering for him before taking a selfie together.
“The old man could not stop smiling. It was such a kind and touching gesture from the Jollibee staff,” customer Quizhia Gotera said.
One worker gave him a kiss in the cheek and they posed for pictures before handing him the food.
Quizhia added that the pensioner often assists diners with parking their vehicles outside the store.
“Sadly, he does not have a house. He is caring for his grandchild, and he comes here rain or shine just to earn a few coins,” she said.
Quizhia uploaded the heartwarming moment on Facebook on Wednesday, August 20, garnering over 196,000 views.
She reshared it on Friday, August 22, captioning her post: “Salute to those father who try their best on their job, for their family to survive.”
