Companies in the beauty and personal care industry are expanding their portfolios through acquisitions and product launches, as firms seek to strengthen their presence across the Philippine market.
Wipro Consumer Care International (WCCI), the fast-Moving Consumer Goods division of Wipro Enterprises, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of S Brands Consumer Care Inc., marking its second acquisition in the Philippines after acquiring Splash Corporation in 2019.
The deal brings under Wipro’s portfolio several established local brands, including KERATINplus, AlcoPlus, DeoPlus, Empress, Grips and Fiona Cologne.
“This acquisition is an important milestone in our journey to become one of Asia’s leading personal care companies,” Nagender Arya, president for East Asia and chief operating officer of Wipro Consumer Care International, said.
He added that the company also sees “strong potential to take KERATINplus and other S Brands products into new international markets.”
Separately, Gluta-C has introduced a new Brightening Sunscreen SPF 60+ PA+++ line, saying the collection was developed in response to consumer demand for products that combine sun protection with skincare benefits.
“Our consumer research confirmed what we’re seeing today—people no longer define beautiful skin by fairness alone. They want skin that looks healthy, even-toned, moisturized, and naturally glowing,” Angeline Fiechter, president of Ardent World Inc., said.
Meanwhile, Kimtan Labs Inc., the company behind Posh Skin Co., has expanded into the wellness segment with the launch of DR.10, a new brand focused on everyday health products. The company also named content creator Hannah Pangilinan as its creative director.
“Our ultimate goal has always been to build brands that solve real everyday friction,” Dowan Kim, chief executive officer of Kimtan Labs Inc., said.
