Philippines’ trade deficit at $5.5 billion in May

 The Philippines posted a trade deficit PHTBAL=ECI of $5.48 billion in May, preliminary official data showed on Tuesday.

Imports PHIMP=ECIrose by 21.9% in May from a year earlier to $13.3 billion, while exports PHEXP=ECI increased by 7.6% to $7.9 billion, the Philippine Statistics Authority said.
