 The Philippines posted a trade deficit of $4.05 billion for January, as exports rose 7.9% from a year earlier and imports fell 3.1%, government data showed on Friday.

The value of imports PHIMP=ECI reached $11.14 billion while exports PHEXP=ECI totalled $7.09 billion, the Philippine Statistics Authority said.
