With the back-to-school shopping season in full swing, retailers have unveiled promotions for budget-conscious families, offering everything from P1 school supplies and discounted stationery bundles to laptop raffles and transport vouchers.

Here’s are the rewards, cashback offers and tech incentives consumers can avail as students prepare for another academic year.

Piso sale

National Book Store is rolling out several back-to-school activities across its more than 260 branches nationwide, with promos scheduled throughout May, June and July.

One of its upcoming events is a one-day “Piso Sale” on June 22, where shoppers can purchase selected school items for P1 with every P99 spent.

According to the bookstore, customers may “bring home pens, highlighters, sticky notes, and even notebooks for only P1 each,” while multiple qualifying purchases can unlock additional P1 items.

Mystery bags

The bookstore chain is also launching P299 mystery bags on May 29 in select branches, including SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, Greenhills and SM Mall of Asia. National Book Store said each bag contains assorted school supplies worth P600 or more.

“Each bag offers different surprises, with items from bestselling and trusted brands, Best Buy school essentials, and more great accessories,” it  said.

Tech things

Brands are also adding gadget-related incentives to school supply purchases amid demand for digital learning tools.

National Book Store, in partnership with Merriam-Webster, is offering customers a chance to win one of four MacBook Neo units through a raffle promo running until July 31.

Customers earn raffle entries by purchasing participating Merriam-Webster titles, with higher-priced books corresponding to additional entries. Members of the bookstore chain’s Laking National rewards program automatically receive double entries.

The bookstore chain described the MacBook Neo as “the perfect tool for students as they begin another school year,” citing its lightweight build, battery life, and Apple A18 Pro chip.

Meanwhile, Lenovo has launched a separate back-to-school campaign offering Grab vouchers worth up to P5,000 for purchases of select Legion, Yoga, LOQ, IdeaPad and IdeaCentre devices.

The promo runs until June 30 through authorized resellers nationwide.

Lenovo said the devices are intended to support students’ “note-taking, content creation, online classes, research, or gaming after school hours.”

“From powering productivity in the classroom to supporting passions beyond it, Lenovo’s Back-to-School Promo 2026 is built for students and families looking to start the school season smarter,” the tech brand said.

Study space and school essentials

Some brands are also helping families set up more organized and comfortable study environments at home.

Anko offers a range of school and home essentials, including stationery, organizers, lunch items, and basic desk tools for study spaces at home.

Some school supplies are priced under P100, such as erasers, sharpeners, sticky notes, and pencil cases. It also sells storage and study tools like cable organizers, pegboards, and whiteboards that can help with home learning setups.

The brand also carries everyday school and meal items such as lunchboxes, drink bottles, and notebooks.

Anko will hold a free Bento Box Workshop on June 6 at its Ayala Malls Feliz branch, where families can learn how to prepare school meals. Registration is available through the Anko Club app or its social media pages.
