A vehicle refused to move after encountering another vehicle attempting to counterflow in its lane during traffic in an undisclosed location.

Automotive publication VISOR posted dashcam footage sent by LJ Sarao, recorded on the evening of April 30.

The video showed a vehicle driving against the flow of traffic in a lane that was already filled with vehicles.

It later encountered an L300 van that was counterflowing in the lane of the dashcam-equipped vehicle.

There was a brief standoff, with the dashcam-equipped vehicle refusing to move into another lane, even after someone in the L300 gestured for the driver to move.

It was only when traffic in the opposite lane eased that the L300 was able to move, with the driver maneuvering back into its proper lane.

“UBUSAN NG ORAS,” a caption of the post reads.

“Dumarami na ang nagkakalakas ng loob na ipaglaban ang tama. Sana ay magandang pangitain ito para sa 2028,” it added, referring to drivers who do not give way to counterflowing vehicles.

The post has received 1,700 likes and reactions, along with 170 comments from online users.

“Counterflow pa. Ubusan tuloy gas,” a Facebook user wrote.

“Tama ‘yan… ‘Wag pagbigyan… Nasasanay kasi eh… nagiging kultura na ‘yung mag-counterflow,” another commented.

Counterflowing is the act of driving against the designated direction of traffic in a lane.

In the Philippines, first-time offenders face a P2,000 fine and a three-month license suspension.

Only emergency vehicles are allowed to travel in the counterflow.
