Spotlight fell on a 2013 white compact crossover SUV after authorities reportedly removed it in Quezon City, where it had been a fixture for more than a decade.

Reports said that a white 2013 Kia Sportage was removed by the Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) on March 23, 2026, after occupying the spot for about 12 years, since 2014.

The QCPD said it had tried to trace the car’s owner but was unsuccessful. The vehicle has been dismantled and transported to a junkyard in San Mateo, Rizal, for disposal.

The vehicle has no license plate.

For years, the Kia occupied a space in front of a gate at the corner of Camaro and Hillman Streets in Fairview. It became a fixture in the area, with a location pin on Google Maps labeled “Fairview’s Finest Ang Abandonadang Kia.”

A review of Google Street View shows that the vehicle was not yet in that spot as of March 2014.

The next entry, dated September 2015, shows the Kia already parked in front of the gate.

The latest entry, from January 2026, shows the Kia already vandalized, with some parts missing, such as its wheels, and broken into.

“Anyone know the story behind this white 2013-ish Kia Sportage that’s been abandoned since circa 2014 along Camaro St. cor. Hillman in Fairview, Quezon City? This is a familiar sight every time I’m on this street,” the Reddit user wrote.

The discussion section was filled with comments from people who said they had lived in the area and witnessed the mysterious vehicle.

“Trademark na ‘yan sa West Fairview, HAHAHA. Naka-graduate nako HS [high school] at college, andiyan pa din ‘yan,” a Redditor wrote.

“Naalala ko naka-park pa ‘to sa sidewalk lang dati, malapit sa Juanito’s, hindi pa diyan. Kaya alam ko at some point, involved ‘yan sa aksidente, kasi may malaking dent ‘yan sa front right (not sure if left or right) bumper niya at basag ang front light niyan,” another wrote.

“Nitong pandemic, kinahoy na ‘yung mga mags niyan at inurong sa tapat ng forever closed gate papuntang Samaka,” the Reddit user added.

Another Redditor, a regular visitor to the area, shared what they heard from residents.

“Super duper tagal na diyan ‘yan, tapat kasi lang ng bahay ‘to ng tita ko across. Every year, kapag na punta ako diyan sa Fairview for family gatherings, eh, always present ‘yan, walang palya. Parang 15+ years na ata ‘yan diyan,” he wrote.

“Natanong ko na rin sa kanila ‘yan kung kanino ‘yan. Ang kwento lang sa akin eh, may kaso ‘yan kasi sangkot sa accidente. Tas ‘yung may-ari niyan eh tumakas at inabandon na diyan. Pero walang sino man may balak tanggalin ‘yan,” the Reddit user added.

Another Redditor claimed to live in the gated village.

“Nakatira ako diyan sa village sa loob. And gaya ng sabi nung iba, ang chismis din samin is sangkot daw sa kaso, tapos tinakbuhan na lang ng may-ari. Kaya hindi na binalikan,” the Reddit user commented.

A different Redditor shared information they said they had learned from Facebook.

“Sabi sa comment section nung nag-post nito sa FB. ‘Yung katabing bahay sa kabila (talyer). Iniwan daw nung may-ari ‘yan sa kanila 11 years ago, naka-garahe pa daw nung una sa talyer ‘yan for paint job and nagsabi na babalikan daw ‘yan nung may-ari,” the Reddit user commented.

“After ilang days, nilabas nung may-ari ng talyer kasi ‘di enough space na sa loob ng talyer nila, to give way sa mga bagong nagpagawa. ‘Yung talyer, nasa ibang location na ng Fairview, pero iniwan na ‘yung sasakyan diyan since hindi na nga bumalik ‘yung may-ari,” the Reddit user added.

Another Redditor said the auto shop was named FBC Auto Repair. A review of the photo shows the Kia parked across from it.

In 2024, an abandoned Mitsubishi vehicle in a parking lot at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport also drew attention.

The car displayed a plate emblem for physicians and was surrounded by barricade tape.

Speculations about the vehicle included possible links to loan collaterals, illegal activities, and other issues.
