The government launched an initiative that allows Filipinos to report slow or weak internet connections in their areas.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) launched the “Oplan Bantay Signal” which relies on citizen reports in pushing telcos to improve their services in the country.

To report a slow or weak internet speed in their area, the public can use the Ookla Speedtest app or website and then submit the results to the email address: [email protected]

They can track their complaint or report to the “Signal Mo, Boses Mo” portal to see the status of their internet in their area.

The gathered data enables the DICT to identify areas with congestion or weak internet signals.

It ensures that telecommunications companies’ infrastructure improvements are based on evidence rather than speculation.

“Oplan Bantay Signal proves that the voice of every Filipino matters,” DICT Secretary Henry Aguda was quoted as saying.

“When the public reports weak signals or slow internet, the government and service providers respond, making connectivity more reliable for everyone,” he added.

The DICT said the initiative aims to strengthen equitable and responsive connectivity to ensure high-quality digital experiences for Filipinos.
