In 2023, social media users were amused when dog owner Mitzi Fabian Delgado shared how her dog, Fuffy, was trusted to make its way home after a grooming session Doggieland PH.
Mitzi also shared screenshots of her conversation with the Doggieland PH staff, informing them of the arrangement.
“Fuffy, good boy, iwan mo [siya] sa nag-go-grooming sa kanya sa Doggie Land tapos after pagupitan, [sabi] ko palabasin lang nila, marunong [siya] umuwi mag-isa hahaha. Tatahol lang [siya] kapag asa labas na siya, forda independent ang dog, hahaha,” she shared in February 2023.
The conversation showed the Doggieland PH staff informing Mitzi that her dog would be sent home, complete with a photo.
Mitzi also updated them by sharing a picture of Fuffy at home, saying he had safely arrived.
“Nakakatuwa naman ‘yan,” the staff of Doggieland PH replied with a heart emoji.
A publication reposted the story on its Facebook page on Sunday, February 8, drawing renewed attention from Filipinos, including Fuffy’s owner.
Three years later, Mitzi shared an update on her beloved dog, saying they now pick him up directly from the groomer.
“Ito na po [siya] ngayon, mukhang need na uli pagupit,” she commented with a laughing emoji.
“Sinusundo na [namin siya] kasi panay sama ‘to kung kanino, basta [may] pagkain,” Mitzi told a concerned Facebook user who advised them to be careful about letting Fuffy roam freely.
Another Facebook user asked if Fuffy went to Doggieland PH on his own.
“Siya rin ba pumupunta mag-isa? GCash [na lang] payment,” the Facebook user commented.
“Yess po, bayad na, uuwi na lang [siya] HAHAHHA,” Mitzi responded.
She also said they now pick up Fuffy from the groomer because he is “too friendly” and might go with anyone.
Experts note that dogs are generally easy to train, as long as the owner understands what motivates them.
Key factors include the dog’s biddability (desire to work with humans), motivation (how much the dog wants the reward), and focus (the ability to ignore distractions).
