Content creator and car enthusiast Macoy Dubs has a reminder for fellow drivers heading out on road trips this holiday season.
The online personality posted the following on his Facebook page on Wednesday, December 24:
“Holiday season or not, be kind on the road. Patience.
Double flash hazard lights to say thank you.
Don’t tailgate. Don’t be aggressive. All of us just want to be home.”

Macoy’s post has earned 2,600 likes and reactions, 21 comments, and nearly 180 shares.
Flashing one’s hazard lights twice is a gesture of thanks that originated in Japan. Drivers flash their hazard lights twice to show appreciation when another car lets them merge or pass.
Meanwhile, tailgating happens when a driver follows too closely, failing to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. To keep a safe distance, a driver should be able to at least see the license plate of the vehicle in front of them.
On the other hand, aggressive driving can lead to road rage. This can be avoided by staying patient and not letting the actions of other motorists affect you personally.
Filipinos are known to spend the holidays with their loved ones, often traveling to the provinces. This usually involves long road trips and interaction with other vehicles on the road.
