
A city veterinary office has advised pet owners to prepare for the anticipated effects of Severe Tropical Storm Fung-Wong (pre-“Uwan”) as it approaches the country in the coming days.
On Friday, November 7, the City Veterinary Office of Naga City in Camarines Sur reminded pet owners to take necessary precautions for their four-legged companions, including:
- Keeping pets indoors
- Preparing food and a first-aid kit in case of evacuation
- Securing identification tags to prevent pets from getting lost

Meanwhile, for animals that cannot be brought indoors, animal advocates recommend removing them from chains and cages to give them a chance to seek safety.

According to the 5 p.m. weather advisory from state weather bureau PAGASA, “Uwan” is expected to cross the northern and central parts of Luzon as a typhoon on Monday, November 10.
Although it may not directly hit Metro Manila, the capital region could still experience strong wind gusts and heavy rains due to “Uwan.”
