In a heartwarming moment, a kind bakeshop staff sang happy birthday to a youngster who was celebrating alone.
The bakery workers were moved when Danly Serrano asked them to put “Me, Myself, and I at 21” as a dedication on the chocolate chiffon he ordered at a Goldilocks Bakeshop branch Manila.
Footage shows the pair lighting a candle and singing to Serrano, who burst into tears on the other side of the counter.
The employees held the cake out to an emotional Serrano as he blew the flames and they told him to make a wish.
One of the workers told him: “Please don’t cry, we might cry too. Please pass the tissue.”
Speaking after, Serrano said the kind staff made his birthday more memorable than it would have been.
“The two staff members there asked me who the cake was for, and I told them it was for myself,” Serrano said.
“They prepared the cake, and to my surprise, they suddenly sang the Happy Birthday song for me,” he added.
The video capturing the heartwarming moment was also featured by People, where the post received an outpouring of birthday wishes for Serrano, love, and gratitude for the bakery’s staff.
