
MANILA (Updated 5:16)— The Philippines’ seismology agency has canceled its tsunami warning following a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck offshore near its southern coast.
Phivolcs initially reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 7.6 and later revised it to 7.5.

“Any effects due to the tsunami warning have largely passed,” Phivolcs said in an advisory.
