Historian Ambeth Ocampo called out two drivers in Makati for parking on a clearly marked “No Parking” zone despite warnings from traffic enforcers.

Ocampo shared two pictures taken from the Apartment Ridge Road on Wednesday, September 17, at 11:17 a.m. and 11:21 a.m. that day.

It featured two vehicles, a red sedan and a white sports utility vehicle parked on the side of the road.

Both vehicles were attended, their engines running, with the SUV’s hazard lights on.

“PASAWAY PA MORE! Two cars parked on a stretch of road clearly marked on the curb and on signage with ‘No Parking. No Waiting,'” he wrote on social media.

“At 11:17 a.m., an enforcer told the SUV to move along, the red car further down sped away. Tickets should be issued. Warnings clearly do not work,” the historian added.

“Four minutes later, with enforcer gone, both vehicles were back,” Ocampo said.

He also said “time stamp photos with car plates” are “available on request if traffic bureau is serious about enforcement.”

Roasting ‘entitled’ vehicle owners

His post earned praises from some Filipinos who commended him for calling out the “entitled” vehicles.

“Simple rules being disobeyed! That’s how entitled and disrespectful these people are,” a Facebook user wrote.

“Everyone should post violations when they see it! Let’s keep it up!!! Shame on [them!]” another Pinoy commented.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently banned street parking on national primary roads, including EDSA, Araneta Avenue, and Marcos Highway, to ease congestion ahead of the holiday rush.

On-street parking will be allowed on national secondary roads through local ordinances, except between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., provided such ordinances comply with the new regulation.

MMDA Chair Don Artes previously said that the agency recognizes the issues caused by illegal street parking.

“We acknowledge that illegal parking in public streets in Metro Manila is a major cause of traffic congestion, traffic-related incidents, hindrance to delivery of emergency and essential services, and revenue losses for businesses, and that regulating public street parking will promote general welfare and maintain peace and order among residents of Metro Manila,” he said.
