Following its permanent closure, a Japanese restaurant in Makati City has warned patrons that any business using its name would not be affiliated with them.
Hana Restaurant on Wednesday, March 25, said that its Facebook page and other social media accounts will no longer be active following its closure on March 24.
“We will not be answering any inquiries. Spams will be blocked,” it said in a post.
It also said that the owner and the family “do not have plans on starting a new restaurant business in the future.”
“We will start a new path. If any business brands the name ‘Hana Restaurant,’ that will not be related to any of us. In case someone says they are related to us, that will be false,” the restaurant said.
“Thank you, everyone, who visited for the last time, gave messages and shared love,” it added.
“We were honored to serve you,” the restaurant concluded with a folded-hands emoji.
The restaurant announced its closure last week, citing several factors.
It said that it has reached its decision due to the “soaring prices of goods,” the “physical aging” of its store equipment, and “safety concerns following recent robberies targeting Japanese nationals.”
“We are truly grateful for all your support over the years,” the restaurant previously said.
Hana began operations in 2010 and had since been managed by a third-generation owner.
Located in Makati’s Little Tokyo, it was a popular spot known for its wide selection of affordable Japanese dishes.
