The Light Rail Transit-Line 1 (LRT-1) caught the attention of social media after referencing American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift‘s new album in its post.
On Wednesday, August 13, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LMRC), which operates the transit line, posted a graphic featuring a train with an orange, glittered window.
“LRT-1 as your #KasamBiyahe Swiftie,” it said in a Facebook post.
The term “Swiftie” refers to a fan or devoted listener of the Grammy-winning artist.
“Getaway train,” a Facebook user commented, referencing Taylor’s “Getaway Car,” a song from her album “reputation.”
“Everyone’s a Swiftie,” another said, tagging a Facebook friend.
“LRT-1 is certified as a Swiftie!” a different online user exclaimed.
The LRMC also reshared the post in a Facebook Story on the same day.
“LRT-1 Gen-4 make your whole world shimmer,” it said.
The phrase is a reference to Taylor’s “Bejeweled,” a song in her “Midnights” album.

The LRT-1 Gen-4 refers to its Fourth Generation train set, which carries four light rail vehicles or coaches and has a passenger capacity of 1,388 per trip.
It has maximum design speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
The trains in this generation have the red color scheme.
Meanwhile, Taylor has announced her first new album since buying back her rights to her master recordings after a dispute with her former record label.
